Solensia (frunevetmab injection) is a prescription monoclonal antibody from Zoetis for the control of pain associated with osteoarthritis (OA) in cats — the first anti-NGF (nerve growth factor) antibody therapy approved for cats in the United States. It is given as a once-monthly subcutaneous injection at a minimum dose of 1 mg/kg and is supplied as a 7 mg/mL solution in single-use 1 mL vials.

How to use
Solensia is administered by or on the order of a licensed veterinarian as a subcutaneous injection once monthly. Safety information
- Not evaluated in cats less than 7 months of age or under 5.5 lb.
- Should not be used in breeding cats or in pregnant or lactating queens.
- The most common side effects in the field study were vomiting (13.2%) and injection site pain (10.9%).
- Pregnant women, women trying to conceive, and breastfeeding women should take extreme care to avoid accidental self-injection.

What are common side effects of Solensia in cats?
Vomiting and injection site pain were the most commonly reported side effects in the field study; diarrhea, decreased appetite, lethargy, and skin irritation were also reported. Contact your veterinarian if you notice anything concerning.
Can dogs receive Solensia?
