New syringes for METACAM® (meloxicam oral suspension) 0.5 mg/mL syringes are here, with updates to both the look and dosing instructions. The new changes to the syringe and instructions are detailed below. Syringe Updates Include: • New dosing directions for dogs weighing less than 2 pounds. The new syringe cannot be used to accurately dose dogs under 2 lbs. For new dosing instructions for dogs under 2 pounds, you will need to refer to the “Directions for Administration (0.5 mg/mL strength): Dogs under 10 pounds (4.5 kg)” section of the METACAM package insert. Ask your veterinarian to demonstrate proper dosing with the new syringe to help avoid any errors.
