A chewable antibotic approved for veterinary use in dogs and cats.
Usage
Clavamox is orally administered – and available in both chewable and drop form – to effectively treat skin infections in dogs and cats, periodontal infections in dogs, and urinary tract infections in cats. Clavamox takes effect within 1 to 2 hours. These effects will last around 24 hours, but may be prolonged if the animal has lessened liver or kidney function. Your animal should see relief within 2 days. If you miss a dose, administer Calvamox when you remember, but if it is nearing the next scheduled time for a dose, skip the missed dose and give it at the next scheduled time. Afterwards, return to the original dosing schedule. Don't ever double dose. Always follow your veterinarians instructions.
Safety Information
People with known hypersensitivity to penicillin or cephalosporins should avoid exposure to Clavamox. Do not use in animals with a history of allergic reactions to penicillins or cephalosporins. Clavamox may potentially interact with other drugs. Talk to your veterinarian about what medications you are giving your animal during Clavamox administration. If your animal is nursing or pregnant, talk to your veterinarian about using Clavamox. Common side effects include: Diarrhea, vomiting, and appetite loss Serious side effects include: Complete appetite loss, fever, rashes, breathing trouble, and pale gums. Contact your veterinarian if you observe any side effects. If you suspect an overdose, contact an animal poison control center immediately.
