Frequently asked questions

What does Cosequin DS do for dogs?

It helps support cartilage health and joint mobility with a double-strength combination of glucosamine hydrochloride and chondroitin sulfate, two of the most studied joint support ingredients in dogs.

What does DS mean in Cosequin DS?

DS stands for Double Strength: each capsule contains 500 mg glucosamine and 400 mg chondroitin, twice the amounts in Regular Strength Cosequin Capsules.

What is the difference between Cosequin and Dasuquin?

Both are Nutramax brands. Cosequin provides glucosamine and chondroitin, while Dasuquin adds ASU (avocado/soybean unsaponifiables) for a more comprehensive formula often recommended as the next step in joint support.

How long does Cosequin DS take to work?

The label calls for an initial 4-to-6-week administration period; many dogs show a response within that window before the amount is reduced.

Where can I buy Cosequin DS Capsules?

This product ships from our home pharmacy. You can order it on our Vetcove pharmacy store, where autoship savings are available.
